another weekend flew by

Friday.

The shovel got a face lift. I took off the wide glide I always hated and the sporty tank. I took this in to get dipped and fixed. It came back like this. Clear it and call it good. I swear I'll finish the springer for it someday.

my boy turned 4 today. off to the beach to play.

Man leaving on a bike for a few days is good for the soul. Me and J.P. left apple valley and ran into some skinny guy on a FXR. You might recognize it. We rode together till Bishop where he stopped for the night. We stayed on till Bridgeport, If you get the chance stay the night, we had a lot of fun and had a pretty good hangover the next morn. Breakfast in Topaz and salty dogs for lunch in Virginia city, then off to North Tahoe for some brew and dinner. Thenext morning was off to Reno then south Tahoe for lunch and back to the casino for one dollar happy hour beer.
We split Tahoe for my Uncles in San Jose down Hwy 50. J.P. smoked his top end in Placerville and we had to load her up. He was about 700 in at that time and the shovel was really runnin great. figures. Anyhow Uncle Kevin had a ham, beer, whiskey and vodka waiting for us. The next morn I came into L.A. I rode the 91 anti chopper and never really new how far you can go without even a sore hand on a bagger. At least it got me pumped and I spent the next 3 days of vacation tinkering with shovel. life is good!!!!!

Its been another long time since my last post and this ones nothing special, but its about 5:15 and I'm packing up to hit the road. Hopefully I'll get some pics for this thing. If not I scored a box of old Easyriders and Supercycle. Maybe I'll steal some shit from them. Anyhow hopefully see ya in 5 or 6 days.

Took our 1970 Hallet to Puddingstone yesterday. There were about 7 or 8 other jets out. I had a blast and now I cant get my mind off the boat. Looked around and found some old pictures on the web to fill my mind. thought they were pretty cool so here's a couple.

Havent had much time to post lately but I'm super stoked. Gettin ready for seven days off and no destination but Tahoe. I hope my ridin parteners get off work or I'm goin alone. You know who you are.

My friend Skip calls yesterday and tells my old lady Babish is going to drop a bike of at my pad, He's gonna pick it up tomorrow. I'm checking it out and realize its Irish Rich's old shovel. Skips gonna try and get it runnin for the guy this week for Born Free. I hope he pulls it off for the guy.

I sold my old 46 last week and Jonsy drove it over to rub my nose in it a little. I'm gonna miss that car. My dad's old friend Jim came by this weekend with his 36 he just got on the road also. Its bagged with a 351 in it. Cool to see a Ford powered by a Ford. He still hasn't picked wheels out yet I'm pulling for some True spokes and baby whites but Ithink he's goin Kelsey Hayes and black walls. Gonna be cool either way.

Rode into downtown today with the Nazi & Adrian. Pretty cool country bands playin at the Redwood. Fuck I hate the 10 fwy.

finally Friday

So my friend Eric lives in Covina. They have a trash pickup where people can put shit on the curb and they pick it up. He decided to do a little dumpster diving and found this. Lucky bastard.

Took my boy for his first ride the other day around the block. Kinda cool to have something I can just set him on and putt. This things gonna get some changes as I get some spare cash. Think I'm goin cholo with it, gonna add some bumpers front and back, then put the ass in the weeds. I've been tainted. I cant believe I'm adding something and not hacking shit off. No big just screwing around in the garage, after all she's gonna be my new commuter.

These are some pictures of my uncle Ralph. He passed away last Thursday and will be very deeply missed by all who knew him. Ralph was a rider who put many a mile under his ass. The picture of him on the triumph was while he was working in Hawaii in the 70's. The gold trike you see on this blog was his and he rode it all over Cali. Frisco to L.A. was just a nice ride for him and his 45. He went across the states on the shovel more than once. The last bike with him on it was his 91 FLHS he put over a 120,000 miles on it and rode it into his 70's when cancer took over. What do you say or do when you lose the people dearest to you. He left me the FLHS, and I know its not a chopper, but I've ridden it every day since his passing. Somehow it helps ease the pain. He's with me every time it fires to life. Him and the Dresser will always be with me. I Love ya Uncle Ralph see ya when I get their.
